Our Flue & Hearth Notes™ Read-Do Forms for Chimney and Fireplace Inspections
A lady enters information into a computer. The monitor shows a chimney and copy.Tracey is entering information into the Read-Do Form to create a chimney inspection report. She is using Urban Inspection Languageā„¢ and the information based off the Do-Confirm Form checklist.
If you want a chimney inspection format that takes you from the driveway to the chimney top, our Read-Do Forms are right for you. These forms include a step-by-step process sequenced the way you would perform an inspection, including points to follow and check off as you do the inspection process.  These forms include the format within the scope of Level 1 and 2 Inspections as required by NFPA 211 and items listed in the Annex.
Our Read-Do Forms include five categories:
  • Masonry Fireplace
  • Masonry Fireplace with or without an Appliance
  • Masonry Thimble Chimney serving an Appliance - Liquid Fuel(s) or Solid Fuel
  • Prefabricated Chimney Serving an Appliance - Liquid Fuel or Solid Fuel
  • Prefabricated Chimney & Fireplace
Within these forms, the inspection items are broken down into subcategories containing locations and items to be inspected.  For instance, one of the segments include Drive Up Exterior Views. This would list items that can be seen from the ground.
You can use our PDF Forms with Digital Services such as:
  • CRM Programs example: Smart Service, Service Pal, and Service Titan
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Office 365 PC or Mac
  • Android or iPad using Adobe Acrobat
These digital PDFs can be as simple as filling out the boxes or allow you to get more creative in presenting your inspection. They can also be used in conjunction with the above databases, even attached to QuickBooks accounts. These forms can be the data-gathering process for your company, not for the customer. From this data, you can give the customer a summary page that provides a call to action for the customer from a form that covers the entire installation and is much easier for them to understand.
At the bottom of the page, we have samples of our Masonry Fireplace Inspection Forms.

Four images of forms show questions pertaining to a fireplace and chimney inspection.
The Flue & Hearth Notesā„¢ Read-Do Form is shown above. The length of the form is dependent upon the five form types available, all based on installation type.
